ABOUT
Hi, I’m Mia. I’m a freelance writer and content editor.
Originally from the Rhondda Valley in South Wales, I’ve spent the past decade blending agency life with academia. Since 2014, I’ve created digital content and strategies for agencies like Publicis London, Cedar Communications, Sunday and Orchard across the food, travel, and creative sectors.
I specialise in crafting emotionally driven narratives, social-first strategies, and strategic communication – underpinned by an academic background in journalism and political communication.
From 2022 to 2024, I taught on the MA Marketing and Digital Communications degree at Falmouth University, first as an Online Tutor in Creative Digital Storytelling before becoming an Associate Lecturer, guiding students through their dissertations.
With a background in social media, I’m deeply interested in how platforms and algorithms shape society, creativity and democracy. In 2021, I completed my MA in Political Communication at Cardiff University, earning a distinction for my dissertation on social media regulation, platform governance, and misinformation.
Beyond work, I’m passionate about connection, community and culture. In 2021, I volunteered as a UN Women UK Delegate for the 65th Commission on the Status of Women. From 2019 to 2020, I produced live radio shows for Boogaloo Radio, collaborating with music industry legends Mike Smith and Rob Owen.
