ABOUT

Hi, I’m Mia. I’m a freelance writer and content editor.

Originally from the Rhondda Valley in South Wales, I’ve spent the past decade blending agency life with academia. Since 2014, I’ve developed digital content and strategies for the likes of Publicis London, Cedar Communications, Sunday and Orchard – predominantly across food, travel, and the creative sectors. My work focuses on crafting emotionally driven narratives that connect deeply with audiences, all underpinned by a strategic understanding of digital engagement.

From 2022 to 2024, I taught on the MA Marketing and Digital Communications degree at Falmouth University. I began as an Online Tutor in Creative Digital Storytelling and later became an Associate Lecturer, guiding students through their dissertations.

Having worked in social media for many years, I developed a deep interest in the broader digital economy and the role and influence of platforms and algorithms in democratic systems. In 2020, I completed my MA in Political Communication at Cardiff University, earning a distinction for my dissertation on social media regulation, platform governance, and misinformation.

Outside of work, I’m also driven by connection, community and purpose. In 2021, I was as a volunteer UN Women UK Delegate for the 65th Commission on the Status of Women. From 2019 to 2020, I also produced live radio shows for Boogaloo Radio, collaborating with music industry legends Mike Smith and Rob Owen.
